Views of both ends of the empty lock, the gate opens and a ship enters, Alex finds this interesting, there's not much room for the ship to maneuver

Once the ship has entered the lock and been secured the gates close and the water level is changed 21 feet. Then the gate opens and the ship continues on it way (note where the deck is in relation to the dock when the ship enters vs. when it leaves).
